I teach English Composition at a local college and I have tutored all different levels in English, Spanish, Italian, French, Writing, Sociology, Philosophy, and more. My method of teaching is to first find out what the student knows, what he or she hopes to learn, and about any passions or concerns the student has. Second, I present a plan of how I think we should go about mastering the needed knowledge, get feedback, and begin to see what teaching tools have optimal resonance. Third, I follow the plan while continually checking for acquisition and if there are any new areas that need to be addressed. I am creative, intuitive, patient, and a really great listener. As such, I use these traits as often as possible in order to create an atmosphere of optimal growth.I have two Masters degrees--one in English Textual Studies and one in Philosophy. I am also getting a PhD in Philosophy. I have lived in several different states in the US (PA, FL, MD, CO, CT, and IL), and I have lived in other countries (Peru, Spain, Italy, and Mexico) and visited many more.I have two big dogs (an Old English Mastiff and a Newfoundland) and two striped cats. I am a current graduate student at George Washington University studying International Education. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, Educational Studies, and Italian Studies from Dickinson College. Throughout my undergraduate experience I had a lot of opportunities working in the classroom and tutoring. For 3.5 years I worked as an Italian peer tutor for undergraduate students at my college. My teaching experience ranges from K-12. When I was studying in Italy I worked as a teacher assistant in an Italian high school. I was also able to work in a middle school classroom teaching Spanish for two consecutive Winter break periods as well as a Summer internship for 10 weeks. For the past year I worked as a lead teacher of a before school program at a local elementary school in my college town. I am so passionate about language teaching as well as working with young students in all content areas. I am so dedicated to teaching youth and preparing them to enter a more globalized society and to be the most empathetic and resourceful citizens they can be inside and outside of the classroom. In my free time I like to read historical fiction, go for runs, and spend time with friends around the city.

Tutoring has been a steady side-gig for me in Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, and The Netherlands. I am also a massive language learning fan and I guess that because it made me more marketable, I have actually held tutoring sessions in at least five languages; I know what I'm doing.My MO is pretty simple: we meet, we discuss your motivations and expectations, I come up with a plan, we tweak it together, and then we are off to the races.
