About Me

I'm a recent graduate from Teachers College, Columbia University with a master's degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, and I'm currently an ESL instructor in New York. I have previously taught at Columbia University and tutored students in ESL/EFL, test preparation, and college application essays. A strong belief I have is that classes should always be grounded in real life, so I'm always collecting authentic materials from a wide range of sources like movie clips, blog posts, podcasts, and sometimes eavesdropping on people's conversations! I also enjoy incorporating communicative discussions and activities to ensure that lessons are dynamic and meaningful. I find so much joy in teaching because I love seeing students become more fluent and confident in their language use, and I genuinely enjoy chatting with students about what interests them.
