Teaching is something that's always come naturally to me. Learning, however, wasn't. A few years ago, I was the kind of student who would need tutoring; now, here I am. From coding and math to writing and SAT-prep, I've gone through it all: now, I'm here to help students get through their own academic hurdles, whether it be study habits or terrifying AP's. I've been tutoring since 2017, working to get many students performing above grade level, and most recently worked at Fingertip Learning as a biology and engineering teacher whilst leading scratch and python workshops. Volunteering last year at Lockdown Learning allowed me to discover that I am most passionate at working with students for writing, SAT Math, and coding. I pride myself in my interpersonal, adaptational, empathetic, and organizational skills teaching students K-12 from various backgrounds. I'm a big believer that progress is correlated with time: there's no better time to start learning than now.

I have an excellent academic record, haven taken 14 AP courses throughout high school, and have preformed well on many standardized exams. I strive to help other students to do the same! I have three years of experience tutoring peers at high school, college, and privately, primarily in English, Math, and SAT prep. Though I tutor a range of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students conquer Standardized Tests (specifically the reading and writing sections) and English. I want to help students excel on Standardized Exams so they can pursue their higher education goals. I find that if students feel they are listened to and heard, this allows them to feel encouraged. I graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in both Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Music. I continued my education at Columbia University and received Master of Arts in Biology. Starting in middle school and continuing through my graduate career, I have tutored students in a wide variety of subjects, but I was most effective at tutoring math and science because of my lifelong love and aptitude for these subjects. Since I am also working towards a career in molecular biology, I use math and science every day, and I can explain real-world applications and uses for these subjects that may not seem obvious. By demonstrating the use of math and science in everyday life, I am able to help interact with the student and increase their interest in a subject in which they may experience difficulty. I also believe that as a tutor, it is my responsibility to engage with the student to help them achieve and even surpass their goals. I have worked extensively on government-related projects, often in the greater Middle East. Effective tutoring should do more than impart techniques -- it should certainly do that -- it should help a student come away with some interest in and enthusiasm for the topic.
