About Me

Johann George is classroom instructor and one-on-one tutor in New York City. He teaches SAT and ACT prep classes to 10th and 11th grade students at The Lycee Francais of New York, The Spence School, The Nightingale Bamford School, and LaGuardia High School. For the past 4 years, he has tutored hundreds of students one-on-one for the SSAT, ISEE, and SAT II Math Subject Tests (I and II). He also advises students applying to performing arts conservatories and coaches students on their college application essays. My primary goal in teaching is to give you the tools to be self-sufficient and to walk into any quiz or test with confidence and ease. As a tutor, I combine a pragmatic drill-and-kill approach with a slower, more discussion based method. In your first session with, I will dissect how you learn and formulate a concrete action plan of how we can achieve your goals. No amount of repetition or re-explanation is too much! My goal is for you to get as much out of your sessions and learn as fast as possible, all while having a great time! My job is only done when you achieve your goals.
