Chemistry Tutoring review by Craig in Duluth, GA
Reviewed previous concepts with the student (kinetic-molecular theory, etc.). Continued on with the properties of liquids. (fluidity, not compressible, diffusion, capillary action, etc.). Worked with the student creating mnemonics for the concepts of Deposition and sublimation. Reviewed differences between vaporization and evaporation, how one can sweat and have the sweat evaporate without boiling, with the mere energy of the sun, and how it cools the body. He has started to ask more questions regarding theory and concepts, very encouraging. Encouraging his questions, and using colored pens/paper to illustrate the concepts I think helps very much.

I got to meet the student today. We had a good session. We discussed orbital and the rules for quantum numbers. I think that will be easier as we get further into chemistry for there aren't lots of applications for orbitals at the beginning. We also discussed unit conversions. We will have more to talk about once he starts getting through his homework assignments.

The student has informed me that he scored a 92 on his recent chemistry exam. We are currently preparing for his midterm next week, which will encompass all of the subjects he has learned so far: ionic and covalent bonding, balancing equations, heat flow and transfer, atomic models and etc. The student's homework will be to record himself reciting his notes as sound files.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Gloria in Duluth, GA
I prepared a review packet with questions on topics that will be covered on the student's exam next Tuesday and we completed these questions together. The topics included: dimensional analysis, frequencies and wavelengths of light, naming polyatomic ions and ionic compounds, periodic trends, and classifying atoms based on periodic trends. She has a strong grasp on the material and with some additional practice questions, I am confident that she will do well on her exam.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Robert in Duluth, GA
We went over calculations between moles, grams, and liters for gases and moles and grams for other compounds. I explained why moles are useful, and we talked about molar mass and Avogadro's Number as conversion factors. We practiced using several of her old homework problems. She is doing fine with both the math and the concepts. We also discussed scheduling and her upcoming course load for junior year.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Neil in Duluth, GA
The student and I had a great session. We spent time talking about Le Chatelier's principle. We went through her homework assignment, and another quiz that I came up with for practice. We also studied through the material that she has on her upcoming test. It's about collision theory and equilibrium. We spent a lot of time talking about the major talking points about these subjects, and also how she can best use her study time to get ready for that test.
