I am an experienced teacher and tutor who graduated from American University with a BA in International Environmental Peacemaking and Print Journalism as well as a minor in Arabic Language. I first became interested in tutoring when I was a student through a literacy advocates program where I tutored in Washington DC. Post-graduation I spent time learning organic farming techniques on a farm in Hawaii where I led student tours and taught about sustainability. After that I moved to China where I taught English to a wide range of children and adult learners. I taught large groups of students in a classroom setting as well as one-on-one classes to individuals. After returning to the US, I continued tutoring some of the students I had worked with in China online. Before the pandemic, I ran an afterschool program in one of Buffalo's public schools for grades K-8. I created all the core curriculum, helped with homework and organized events for the students. I think a thirst for knowledge is one of the most valuable gifts you can give someone. I look forward to working with you or your child and helping him or her learn to love learning!

I was not born to a family with money; but my education has opened doors for me around the world. I have been a Teaching Assistant for some of this country's brightest students at Princeton University; I have worked as a Lab Instructor at the University at Buffalo and taught a seminar course of my own design as an Adjunct Instructor. I have studied at universities in four countries and earned multiple graduate degrees in disparate fields (Political Science & Biology), while earning scholarships to pay my way. I know this stuff; and I know *how* to perform well academically. I look forward to sharing what I have learned.

I have graduated with a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences and I am currently earning another Bachelor's degree in Computer Science! I chose to get another Bachelor's degree because I discovered my passion for programming in a previous job role I had.I am currently volunteering with an organization called Journey's End. In this organization, I help tutor English to people who are immigrants or refugees that don't have English as their first language. I am passionate about teaching others and being part of their growth. I have experience tutoring Calculus and Biology with my classmates. This furthered my growth in teaching and helping excel others in their educational career. I have helped many students understand concepts along with recommending tips about how to optimize their study methods as well! I am a firm believer that learning how to learn is so important in your educational career. I take inspiration from my fellow professors and teachers and in turn, I can help future students with this inspiration.

I started my career as a registered nurse in trauma intensive care, before being promoted to public health nurse for more than 36 years. I have worked in various capacities providing healthcare across a variety of specialty settings. As a lifelong learner, I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from St. John Fisher College; I am also a board-certified family nurse practitioner. I was honored Sigma Theta Tau. Since then, I was recognized with a Faculty Initiative Grant Award as Nurse Educator for college nursing students. I held two elected positions for the New York State Nurses Association; Public Health Practice Focus Group Delegate and AFL-CIO Delegate. I was also honored with the Nurse Practice Award. Additionally, co-authored a published article: "Privacy and Health Law" in the Nurse Practitioner Association Journal of New York.Most recently I practice as a family nurse practitioner in post-acute care settings. I also manage patients who suffer from COVID-19 and related long term sequalae. I am also a consultant for Diabetes Connections 4 life, inc. providing diabetes self-management education.I am very passionate in preparing Nurse Practitioners for National Board Certification, and nurses (NCLEX). My philosophy is to facilitate essentials of critical thinking, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, technology and test taking skills for success. The current state of healthcare is dire. There is "a call to action" for health care professionals to promote life quality and prevent premature death as never before during this unprecedented health care crisis.
