I'm a professional writer, editor, and journalist based in Seattle, Washington. I've spent most of that time writing for independent weekly newspapers, which is a lot like having an essay due every week. I'm sure you can relate!

I am passionate about the written word, and eager to use my ten plus years of experience creating and editing written content to help others improve their own work. As an editor, I try to avoid being harsh or overly critical, instead using errors or unclear sentences as an opportunity to really investigate and understand why the English-speaking community adheres to certain rules of grammar or style. I've particularly enjoyed mentoring younger journalists over my career, and feel most fulfilled when I see someone understand not only what the best way to say something is but also why. I'm most passionate about essay editing -- taking your good ideas and helping you express them -- but can help with the generative writing process itself, reading comprehension, outlining, citations/sourcing, and anything else to do with writing, editing, or research.
