As a lifelong learner with a background in education, I have taught all grade levels and worked with all types of students -- ELL students, general education students, and special education students.

As a recipient of academic scholarships during my first three years of undergraduate coursework, I was selected to work on campus in the Writing Center, teaching my peers how to compose and edit their research papers. Later, as a first-place recipient of the Gould Scholastic Award for writing a research paper on big data, I was chosen to present my research at Avila University's student symposium.

I attended The University of Kansas City-Missouri as a Spanish major and later transferred to Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in corporate communications in 2014. In 2023, I graduated with my master's degree in secondary education with an emphasis in special education (high incidence) from Pittsburg State University.

I am certified to teach middle school English and have worked as a high school Spanish teacher and co-taught middle school math, English, and social studies. I am a former cheer coach and assistant track coach, am bilingual (Spanish), and love to learn and help others achieve their full potential. Meeting students (young and old) where they are, personalizing their learning experiences, and making learning relevant and interesting are some of my strengths as an educator. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, attending live entertainment (musical and theatrical performances), and spending time with my three children.
