As a licensed occupational therapist who passed the NBCOT exam on my first attempt in 2020, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to my tutoring. I specialize in helping aspiring Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs) prepare for the NBCOT exam with confidence and clarity. My tutoring approach focuses on test-taking strategies, critical reasoning, and clinical application, tailored to each student's learning style and needs. I support students with targeted content review across major domains such as pediatrics, physical disabilities, mental health, and gerontology, while also emphasizing practical strategies for managing test anxiety and approaching tricky exam questions.
Since becoming certified, I have worked full-time as a remote, school-based occupational therapist, serving K12 students through telehealth. This role has strengthened my ability to deliver clear, effective instruction across virtual platforms, and has kept me closely connected to current best practices in the field. My work has primarily focused on supporting students from preschool through high school with diverse learning and developmental needs, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral challenges. I have extensive experience in areas such as sustained attention, direction-following, executive functioning, and fine motor skills, including handwriting instruction using the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum.
My tutoring sessions are interactive, supportive, and rooted in real-world experience. I aim not only to help students pass the NBCOT exam but to help them feel prepared and empowered as future clinicians, as well as other students who need additional assistance with schoolwork and studying/daily life skills.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, yoga, and running.
