As a dedicated educator with a Master's degree in Specific Learning Disabilities from North Carolina State University and National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification, I have over 38 years of experience in intervention, special education, general education and tutoring settings, focusing primarily on reading and math intervention for elementary students. I am a Certified Wilson Practitioner and utilize the Wilson Reading System alongside other evidence-based strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes. My passion for teaching is rooted in witnessing the transformative power of literacy, and I strive to create a supportive environment where every student can thrive. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy engaging in activities of life long learning, reading, the beach and cheering on the Tar Heels.
