I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Delaware working towards my Bachelors of Science in Cognitive Science. Over the years I have worked with students of all ages both in and out of the classroom. I worked at a summer camp teaching kids about the environment and I was a volunteer cheer coach for my local youth football program. I also volunteered as a student paraprofessional for my school district's special education summer program. I am passionate about helping students because as an older sister I got a role in helping my little brothers learn and grow and I knew then that this was what I wanted to do with my life. I want to help children develop into the best versions of themselves. I am tutoring in math, mainly at the elementary and middle school level. I like to tutor math because it has always come easy to me and I love the use of patterns and structure to find clear definitive answers. I would love nothing more than to share this with these students. My teaching philosophy revolves around encouraging my students to think creatively about how to "problem solve". This helps them both in and out of the classroom; driving them to develop their own ideas and be independent. I also like to try and bring creativity into the classroom in my own ways by introducing topics to students in new ways to help them see it from a different perspective. Outside of school I like to go to the gym to stay healthy, read to enrich my mind, and I love to volunteer within my community.
