I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in physics with a strong emphasis on theory. I have experience in the laboratory, constructing PVDF films for optically sensitive - piezoelectric materials. I have five years of tutoring experience, placing an emphasis on teaching students the fundamentals of material through rigorous exercises that aid in understanding the material outside of just the classroom requirements. While I distinctly enjoy teaching students interesting mechanics problems, especially due to their greater implications and practicality. I tutor a wide range of subjects including high school level mathematics, AP level Calculus, differential equations, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics, electricity and magnetism, as well as introductory quantum mechanics. I find a strong emphasis on first principles, and being able to derive the material by oneself to be incredibly beneficial to students, especially with regards to being able to take the material beyond the classroom and actually retain it. In my spare time, I love to cook, learn new skills, play video games with my friends, and enjoy the company of Amelia and Artemis, my cat and dog. I look forward to working with you to overcome your challenges and unlock your learning potential.

Hobbies

I enjoy being productive and working on self improvement. Usually that means I either learn a new skill, whether or not it's actually applicable, or it could mean I try and beat some kind of goal in a game or other challenge. I got into chess a year ago, but my ELO score has been stuck around 900 and dropping so that's my current gripe. Otherwise, I especially enjoy my work with physics, and am constantly trying to improve my relevant skills so I can apply them and share them with others.
