I am a graduate of Bemidji State University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in English with a focus on creative writing and a minor in psychology. Since graduation, I have taught for 20 plus years as a high school English teacher; I also am a writer who has published a children's book and a few poems as well as many articles in local newspapers. Each year, I also write the school play or the school's Music Revue script. Creativity is my passion! While I am willing to tutor on a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English language and Writing. In my experience helping struggling students goes smoother when we relate the material to our own interests. I am a firm believer in the power of education. I believe education is a necessity in order to survive and thrive in our complex world, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a variety of literature, learning new technologies, and driving my Polaris slingshot.
