I am currently a graduate student at The University of Alabama in the College of Education focusing on my Master's in Secondary General Science. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Marine Science in May 2021. I consider my teaching philosophy as one that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and imagination. One student's way of doing something may not be the same as another's, but that doesn't mean that it is wrong. My tutoring style is inquiry-based. Working off the students' questions helps me understand what needs to be covered, where to start, and their best learning style. I did my observations in a 6th grade Life Science class and absolutely LOVED it! I currently tutor intro-level biology students at the university and middle school math students. I have tutored middle school and high school sciences. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and science; especially algebra, geometry, and any biology/life/earth science. There's always a path to follow when getting to the answer. STEM is very inquiry-based so you learn something every step of the way. Outside of academia, I like to be adventurous and explore Earth and its people. I love anywhere near the water, traveling, trying new food, and meeting new people.
