About Me

I am a graduate of both South College in Asheville, NC and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. I received my Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from South and my Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a concentration in Athletic Training from WCU.Since graduation as a Sonographer, I have worked at a few hospitals, a stand alone ER, an outpatient imaging center & a breast center; performing general, vascular, OB/GYN & Breast ultrasound exams. I have my RDMS in Abdomen, OB/GYN and Breast as well as my RVT (Vascular) Certifications. While I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about healthcare, specifically Sonography & Medical Terminology. I previously spent 20+ years as an instructor with the American Red Cross for Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED and Advance Professional BLS. I have a passion for education and patient care. I love to explain new and unfamilar concepts in a practical way to increase understanding and real world application. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and dog, hiking, kayaking and really doing almost anything outdoors.
