I am a person who longs for and strives to find meaning in everything I do.
In my life's journey I have had moments where I wish I just had someone to guide me or provide me with some extra instruction. There were times that I had those people, but sometimes I had to figure things out by myself. Because of that, I developed a passion to see and help people achieve their goals.
I am a graduate in the area of Theology and also am an undergraduate in IT. I have been investing time studying for a Strategic Leadership and Management Specialization as well as Neuroeducation and Psychopedagogy.
I am a certified English teacher with a TQUK Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (RQF) - OFQUAL Regulated.
Since my graduation in Theology, I have traveled to different countries such as Egypt, India, Pakistan, England, Korea, and others. In these locations, I spend my time tutoring young people in public schools, helping adults among groups such as refugees, and homeless or people living in the slums. I also have traveled within the USA working among refugees and immigrants in different states such as California, Virginia, Indiana, and others.
Because of this, I have had the opportunity to see different needs people have. Since the beginning, I have been embracing every single chance I have to bring hope and meaningful outcome to each moment that I find a door opening to someone's life.
In Egypt, for example, I had the privilege to work among Syrian refugees. I met many families and young people with the desire to grow in their education and to improve their English. I had the beautiful opportunity to help them by teaching some of the skills I knew, including English.
Years later, I met my husband and, together, we started a school in media advocacy. This experience provided me with the challenge of learning how to be a Curriculum developer in the area of Video Advocacy and a School Leader & Project Manager at University of the Nations. We trained and sent out on outreach a team of young people to work on a 20 minute piece of a documentary on the painful and difficult subject (and sad reality) of Sex Trafficking. Here, I was also able to walk with people in their loss of identity, helping them to find hope and purpose to continue thriving.
I can also tell you some stories from my years of experiences as a volunteer in the area of Intercultural Education & Training, Discipleship and Bible education.
I also have experience as an ESL Teacher at Durihana Association Inc, located in South Korea, where I was able to help North Korean refugee kids, helping them to achieve the goals that the education system requires from them in order to reestablish them into the society. I currently help a group and leaders at Betel Church in Brazil, as they aim for international connections and English language acquisition. I also have been having the experience of have worked with Nevy's Language, located in Canada, where I taught (online) and help refugees and immigrants from various countries to achieve their goals with their acquisition of the English language proficiency. I have also been engaged with the Duolingo platform as an Event host, where I teach both English and Portuguese.
In my experiences connecting and helping people struggling to achieve their goals, I learned that we together can go further. We can always learn from each other's experiences, and together, we can better the environment around us.
Looking forward to meeting you!
