I graduated from Bemidji State University in Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and from The University of Texas Brownsville with a Master of Education Reading. After completing my undergraduate studies in Minnesota I moved to Texas to pursue a career in education. During my 31 years as an educator, I have taught students in grades three through 6 as both a departmentalized reading teacher and a self-contained classroom teacher. Currently, I am working as a reading interventionist serving children in grades one through four and as an ESL tutor working with students in other countries. I enjoy teaching and I aspire not only to teach students to read, but also to help them love reading. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing games, with my family and, taking long walks with my husband.
