I am a recently retired teacher with 33 years of classroom experience. In addition, I have also delivered about 1500 on-line ESL tutoring sessions to students ranging in age from 4 to 16. My teaching career began after earning a Master's Degree in Education from Harding University. While working as a teacher, I also went on to earn 45 additional hours of graduate-level work. Most of my years of teaching were spent in primary grade classrooms. Reading acquisition is of utmost importance for young learners. The teaching of reading is my passion. Very few things bring me more joy that to see the look on a student's face when they suddenly realize that they are effectively making meaning from and connections with the printed word. I believe that everyone can learn and that learning can be fun. This belief and confidence is evident to my students. The will benefit from my love for learning mixed with my high expectation for success.
