I am a passionate educator who is committed to evolving and acquiring new skills. I am a career learner and I have a wide variety of interests! My longest teaching experience was spent within the City of Hallandale Beach's Human Services Department, at the Austin Hepburn Center. During my tenure at the Hepburn Center. I was awarded the Teacher of the Year distinction in 2014 and the Teacher Assistant of the Year title for the 2017 - 2018 academic term. The primary aim for the Hepburn Center's after-school Program was to prepare our pupils to perform well when they sat for the Florida Standards Assessments (FSA). The FSA examined student knowledge and critical thinking skills across multiple disciplines, including mathematics and English language arts. At the Hepburn Center, I also provided unique interactive learning experiences during spring and summer camp sessions. This was achieved through field trips, group projects, and performing arts opportunities - each of which integrated book work, technology, music, and hands-on learning.
Currently, I create and execute lesson plans for the Pre- K class at my faith-based organization. I have also provided tutelage and ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy in a tradition school setting while working with World Evolve, Inc. Recently, I've had the joy of imparting life skills and support to youth at a children's home in Miami. I look forward to meeting new students!
