I enjoy sharing the information I have learned and using my real-world experienced to bridge the gap between textbook and putting the knowledge to use. I am passionate about helping people and am happy when I see that moment where a concept "clicks."
I have previously tutored math with elementary level students while in college, as well as, help classmates with Calculus and C/C++. In my professional career, I've trained Junior Systems Administrators on working with servers and financial information systems, and I've trained Junior Security Analysts on analyzing network traffic, systems logs, and files for malware and malicious activity.
I have a Master of Science in Information Technology with a focus in Systems and Information Security from Southern New Hampshire University. I spent two years at the University of Alabama in Huntsville studying Computer Science and Mathematics before pursuing a graduate degree. My bachelor's degree is in Studio Art from the University of Hawai'i.
I tutor computer science and information technology subjects including C++, Python, and Cyber Security. My favorite subject to tutor is cybersecurity because there is always an interesting real-world example to illustrate a concept. My tutoring style is by doing an activity or reviewing examples of a concept in action and then getting an understanding of why it is important in the broader landscape of the subject matter.
Most recently I have studied machine learning using python and am curious as to its application in cybersecurity and game design.
