I am a graduate of North Carolina State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a focus on Media Studies, and minors in Arts Entrepreneurship and Music (Vocal Performance). Since graduation, I have worked for a number of theatre companies as an actor, director, writer, and administrator, private coached students in piano and voice, and worked as an SAT and SHSAT prep teacher. I have also been teaching myself Spanish and American Sign Language! I teach many subjects, but I am most passionate about Theatre, Film, English, Literature, and Media Studies. When it comes to standardized testing, I find that I am best equipped to prepare students for reading, writing, and verbal sections. Given my background in the performing arts, I am often told that I am a fun and engaging teacher! As the child of a lifelong educator, the importance of education was imparted to me from a young age, and my interest in making education accessible and compelling has been reflected in my work with national and international educational nonprofits, including 826DC, India's Sehgal Foundation, and Chautauqua Institution. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, roller skating, hiking, and watching scary movies.
