I am currently a sophomore at the University of Arizona Honors College in Tucson, Arizona. I am double majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Neuroscience & Cognitive Science with a concentration in Neurobiology. I am also minoring in Spanish and hope to attend medical school after I graduate. Throughout my schooling, I have taken many Honors and AP courses as well as tutored fellow classmates and students of different grade levels in many subjects. However, I am particularly passionate about Chemistry, Biology, and Math as I find the interdisciplinary nature of these subjects fascinating. I like to help students explore connections between different concepts in order to understand the bigger picture, but at the same time, I also like to provide students with problem-solving strategies and tips on how to make sense of smaller details.
Additionally, understanding applications of concepts also helps me understand the material better, and this approach may also work for many students. As a current research assistant in an immunobiology lab, I am very familiar with applications of scientific ideas that students often learn in their classes, so I can offer additional unique insight to them. Everyone has a unique learning style, and I am passionate about helping a student understand theirs, unlock their potential, and thrive. To me education is empowerment, and I love to make learning fun for students to not only help them retain information better but also enliven their curiosity.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching movies, photography, trying different kinds of foods, and spending time with my friends and family.
Undergraduate Degree: University of Arizona - Bachelor of Science, Neuroscience
