I am a graduate of Huntington University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement in May 2013. Since graduation, I have been teaching in a Title 1 public school in Huntington, Indiana. I taught 3rd grade for one year, and have been teaching Kindergarten for the last six and a half years. I have had students of all different ability levels and struggles in my classroom (deaf, learning disabilities, students with autism, students with behavioral struggles, high ability students, students with 504 plans). I have also had experience substitute teaching in all grades PreK-5th grade.

I believe that forming positive personal relationships with my students should be the number one focus. If students feel cared for, loved, respected, and valued, their confidence in education will grow immensely. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, actively participating the children's ministry and worship team at my church, and traveling with my husband!
