I am a Mechanical Engineer who loves helping students tackle their physics and math classes. My physics teacher in high school was so passionate about the material that I 'caught the bug' and knew I wanted to study physics in college - so I became a Mechanical Engineer! Since then I've tried to pass on that excitement for physics and math to my students. I have four years of tutoring experience, both in-person and online. My past students have consistently improved their overall grade by a letter or more, which I take great pride in. I love to turn a student's "trouble subject" into a point of personal accomplishment, through tutoring that he/she will actually enjoy. Physics is my favorite subject to tutor but I also enjoy tutoring math. I earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and since then I've found my calling designing surgical implants used to correct spinal injuries or deformities. In my free time I love hiking and camping - in fact, I took some time off last year to hike 2,200 miles from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail!
