My motto is "All of Us WILL Learn!" From the beginning of my teaching career, I have always strived to meet students where they are and scaffold them to the next level through rigorous, meaningful instruction. Born and raised in Fort Smith, AR, I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I began my career as a 1st grade teacher at Howard Elementary School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I went on to teach 3rd grade, as well as, serve as the School Site Coordinator for Jefferson Learning Supplemental Education, an afterschool tutoring and enrichment program for kindergarten-6th grade students. In 2010, I decided to move to Houston to further my growth as an educator. I quickly found a position in Houston ISD as a Teacher Technologist/Math Lab teacher at Mading Elementary School. In the summer of 2011 and 2012, I taught ESL and Advanced English classes to Mandarin students at Famewell School in Sugarland, TX. In 2012, I accepted a position as the Academic Programs Coordinator at Dominion International Center, in which I had the opportunity to work with students from various African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, and Ethiopia. I also worked as an Independent Contract Tutor for various schools and individual clients. Currently, I am a Reading Intervention at Elrod Elementary School in Houston ISD. I truly value the gift of education. I am committed to ensuring that all students grow to be self-empowered, independent, and confident citizens. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, surfing the web, sporting events, eating out, and, most of all, spending time with her 14 year old daughter.
