Tutoring with Varsity Tutors is very exciting to me because it allows me to teach a diverse group of students and focus my time and energy towards mentoring students, collaborate with colleagues, and develop innovative and effective courses. I have always been passionate about Microbiology, and I bring that energy into the classroom, encouraging my students to see each step of the process as a dynamic way to develop their ideas and to express their individual strengths.

In the last three years of my teaching experience overseas, I have designed and taught four introductory Biology and Microbiology classes, and I have experience teaching students from many different cultural backgrounds, including many international students and students who possess a wide range of abilities on science topics such as biology, chemistry, and algebra. I received the honor teaching certification there. My teaching experience along with my Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and enthusiasm for educating students provides me with the drive and knowledge to significantly impact your tutoring company.

Lesson planning, needs assessment, and engaging educational techniques are just a few areas in which I have gained experience and expertise. Throughout my teaching career, I have honed my communication, creativity, and motivational skills. Furthermore, my commitment to fostering collaborative and exciting educational environments positions me to successfully encourage and develop productive, thoughtful, and accomplished the students.
In the recent past, I also was a cancer research fellow at the National Cancer Institute and worked on two projects focusing on alarmins, immunology, and antitumor immunity. My research at NCI has allowed me to learn flow cytometry, HEK293 cell culture, western blotting, culturing a murine melanoma cell line, receiving certification for mouse handling, performing injections, and organ harvesting, and preparing a multicomponent melanoma treatment regimen for mice.

In addition to my laboratory experience, I also possess great organization and communication skills and always strive to learn and improve my teaching techniques. I strongly believe that a combination of these distinct abilities will allow me to excel at teaching students in the most effective and engaging manner.

With my experience and credentials, I am ready to dedicate myself to the highest standards of learning!
