I am an enthusiastic educator who believes that advancement in learning is possible for all. I have been passionate about teaching since I was a child myself. I began as a student tutor in third grade. I have twenty years of experience as a tutor. I currently have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, earned at Ivy Tech Community College. I am currently attending Western Governors University online. My Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 will be completed in November 2018. Before I decided to finish my degree, I worked in the medical insurance industry where I trained new employees and helped to create the training initiatives for the claims department.
My approach to tutoring begins with getting to know the student. Education plans should be individualized. After learning about the background of my students and the learning goals that they are in pursuit of, I design creative ways of engaging the student with the material in order to build necessary skills for success!
