I received my bachelor of science from Purdue University in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry as well as a master of science in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) with a thesis focused in atmospheric physics. During my undergraduate career, I tutored other chemical engineering undergraduates through my chemical engineering honor society, Omega Chi Epsilon. Here I worked with other chemical engineering undergraduates on core chemical engineering courses as well as general science and math courses. In graduate school, I worked as a teaching assistant within the school of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, teaching 2nd semester thermodynamics on two separate occasions. After finishing my graduate degree, I continued privately tutoring while working as a scientist for Siemens Healthcare, teaching Notre Dame and Indiana University students in undergraduate physics (mechanics), math (algebra), and computer programming. I am capable of tutoring a wide variety of undergraduate courses within math, chemistry, physics, engineering, and computer science. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and chemical engineering courses as these courses were most interesting to me when in school. My teaching/tutoring style is best described as one rooted in practical examples and applications of course material. Often students lose interest in or have trouble learning a subject because they cannot see the value or application of the course material. Bridging the theory of a course and its practical side can really help students succeed; I try to use this approach as often as possible when tutoring. Outside of tutoring I enjoy golf, automotive technology (tuning and modifying cars), and building mechanical and electrical projects in my shop.
