I am a Brooklyn Tech graduate, currently a second-year undergraduate student at St. John's University, and a recipient of the full-tuition New York Knicks 'Urban Word' scholarship. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and with over half a decade of tutoring experience, I have become quite skilled at what I do. I am accustomed to the busy environment in tutorial centers, as I have worked for many over the past few years, but I believe that individual, specialized assistance, where the student receives a tutor's undivided attention, is vital for a student's academic success.
As a tutor, it is my duty to ensure that my students become proficient in, and eventually master the subject areas they need the most assistance in, and I will also provide the tools necessary for my students to succeed. I assure you that I will be able to help your child achieve well beyond their predetermined goals, and I will actively make sure that they overcome their weaknesses, and become the best they can possibly be.
My areas of expertise are with the core subjects for grades k-12, Common Core, Algebra, Biology, English, and History for Regents standards as well as SHSAT and SAT preparation.
With ample experience tutoring kids from kindergarten to 12th grade, I can easily understand a student's weak areas, and what is required for them to improve. I create individual tutoring plans for each of my students, provide specialized focus for their weak areas, and do what is necessary for them to develop a better understanding of the subject(s).
After my sessions, I make sure that my student has been challenged, but not overwhelmed, and I will make sure that my student is eventually more than qualified to succeed, and is ahead of the class. I will assign homework to challenge and reinforce newly learned topics, and I will provide lessons and assessments to ensure their understanding of the subject.
Thank you for your time, and please email me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
