I started tutoring because I love math and I believe that everyone can learn to feel the same. Mathematics is ubiquitous in our world and contains profound truths that every human being should be able to understand and appreciate. Students who "hate" math seldom truly do; often only a past bad experience has ruined the subject for them. From there, I branched out to the sciences and things only became more fun.
In all my tutoring, I strive to emphasize the underlying beauty of the subject. I find that enthusiasm is infectious and is the best answer to precipitously dropping grades. I believe that building confidence and deep conceptual understanding, as well as fostering a rich and mentor-like relationship between tutor and student, is the most enjoyable and most rewarding way to teach; in fact I would like to pursue a career as a professor of physics!
