What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is one of empowering the individual to achieve the confidence and success in the subject matter involved. This empowerment should include the love and desire to move forward and grow in all the educational aspects of the individual.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
In order to become an independent learner the student must envelop an excitement and thrill to advance their search and understanding of the material. The individual should demonstrate an inner joy to capture all the information with the pride of independent learning.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Motivation must be external as well as internal. Self-satisfaction and pride should drive the student to be motivated toward the “best one can be."
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
The “skill or concept" must be simplified to the point that is identifiable to the student and on the level of familiarity.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introduce myself and my background and assess the student's qualifications and objectives for the sessions.
