I have been teaching Basic Writing and English classes for several years, along with Literature courses. My experience with tutoring comes from when I was a graduate student. I worked as a tutor for the Athletic department. As a tutor, I would work with those students that had missed class the day of the lessons they needed. I reviewed papers and assessed learning. As an instructor, I learned this to be valuable in the classroom. I often held workshops that would require students to exchange their papers with one another. This would help them learn how to catch the mistakes in their own papers as they often did not see it in their own work. I will walk through the writing process with each student, until they are satisfied with the end paper. As writers we know that the hardest part of Writing is starting.
