I am native of Chile where I attended a German school for 11 years.
During this time I approved two exams in German, verbal and written, that were corrected and graded in Chile and Germany as well. In addition, I went to Germany for three months in a student exchange program. During this time, I lived with a host family and attended a German high school. My great grandparents had come to Chile from Germany; thus both my father and grandmother used to talk to me in German when I was growing up, in addition to my native language, Spanish.
Once I moved to the USA, I won a scholarship from my German class in my senior year of high school. During college, I started tutoring students in German and Spanish as well, especially in grammar. At this point in time I realized I could help students in both of these languages. In addition I have taken Spanish grammar courses at Montclair State University, thanks to which I have been able to help my fellow classmates.
Some of my hobbies are soccer, basketball, and hanging out with my friends. I am also a soccer referee, working in various youth, men's, and high school leagues. Also, my favorite soccer league to watch is the English Premier League, though in my country soccer is called “fútbol”.
