I am a recent graduate of West Virginia University earning my PhD. in chemical engineering. My research included using polymer with complex functional groups to create complex bio-medical composite materials by directing the self-assembly process of inorganic nanoparticles. I have tutored privately for both clients and friends in the fields of Math, Chemistry and Physics since high school. I offer a fresh take on the demands on students today being a recent graduate. In addition to writing assistance, I can assist students with using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as beginner level MS Project.My tutoring and teaching strategy primarily involves coaching students with questions that will help them develop ideas for writing and problem solve issues in their own writing. I am a proponent of gardening and enjoyed the chance to attempt my own vegetable garden for the last two summers. Additionally, I support being a responsible citizen as an informed, registered voter and protector of the environment, using whatever green methods I can (recycling, driving fuel efficient vehicles, and using recycled products). I have also participated in worthy causes like Relay for Life and "Pie in the Face" activities for St. Baldricks. After discovering I had a gluten intolerance, I also became a proponent of healthy, natural eating and living a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle.

As a licensed occupational therapist who passed the NBCOT exam on my first attempt in 2020, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to my tutoring. I am currently a 2nd year Law Student at Duquesne University. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in History from West Virginia University. I am currently a graduate teaching assistant and I teach two history courses; Ancient Western Civilization and American History: Pre-Civil War. As such I feel very confident tutoring any sort of history course as my own experiences and notes should match closely with your course requirements. I also received very high academic marks on both my LSAT (law school admission test) and SAT's. In addition, I took these 2 exams fairly recently so I am familiar with any new changes or adaptations which may have been made. I am a graduate of West Virginia University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I have always loved to travel which I guess is why I studied languages in the first place. When I took on French at West Virginia University it was something I simply enjoyed. After I finished my music studies I moved to Lyon, France where I was able to focus on independent music research. I fell in love with the French culture through performances, business meetings, collaborations, and time with friends. I loved it so much that I stayed there for two years. Now I am back in the States helping students with their French and helping fellow travelers like myself learn the language so that they may have an easier and more meaningful experience. As a teacher I am calm and laid back and French is often taught best that way. Most of my students not only learn what they need for coursework, they learn cultural aspects and speaking as well. I am a firm believer in teaching culture with the language because it is often difficult to learn and understand the language otherwise.I love cooking, traveling, and trying new restaurants. I am also cheerful and love to laugh. So I watch movies, comedies and comedians.

I come from a long line of teachers. My father, sister, grandfather, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces all chose teaching as their life's work.Even at a very early age it was becoming apparent that teaching would become a large part of my future. I remember sitting in on one of my father's classes. I was so proud of my dad as I watched him interact with his students. It was obvious the class loved him as they hung onto every word from his mouth. I hoped and dreamed to be just like him one day.At 15 it became more clear that the teaching profession would become an integral part of my future. I was a gymnast and inevitably I would gravitate over to one of my teammates who was struggling with a new trick. I would spend my practice time teaching my teammate how to get that new trick and it occurred time and time again. I actually got as excited as my teammate was when they got that new skill.That excitement just continued to grow as I was offered a free masters degree program (plus compensation) at West Virginia University when I agreed to assistant coach their women's gymnastics team and teach classes. The team had never made it to regionals before I got there. By my second year not only did the team make it to regionals but WON regionals then went on to Nationals and ended up being the third best team in the U.S.A.There were several more success stories during my two decades of teaching/coaching and counseling. I opened my own private gyms and developed numerous national and international level athletes and champions.Teaching continues to make me happy and proud of what I've accomplished and the 100's of student's lives that I've touched.Looking back, sitting in my dad's class as a 12 year old helped me make one of the most important and fulfilling decisions of my life. becoming a teacher.

I am a writing center Assistant to the Director and tutor at Casper College here in Wyoming. I did my undergrad at West Virginia University, where I majored in History and minored in German and Math.I've had a passion for education since i graduated high school. During my gap semester, I worked alongside my high school statistics teacher in his math classrooms and fell in love! From there I tutored throughout college with a variety of organizations, working with at-risk high school students, university athletes, and students with disabilities.I enjoy tutoring math courses the most. I struggled with math in high school and got lots of help. Once I did, my confidence and interest grew to the point I studied it in college. So it's really rewarding for me to help others grow in the subject as well. However, I also enjoy tutoring history, German, and test prep as well.I believe in interactive education and hands-on experience, lots of doing and making. I also believe conversation reflects a deeper level of understanding of the material, so you can expect to be engaged in my sessions either by making or speaking.I look forward to working with you and getting to know you!

I have been working professionally in education for almost six years now. I have been described as a compassionate, reliable, effective, and fair teacher. I have worked in regular education and special education settings. A fun fact, I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and love to incorporate that into my teaching style.
