I graduated from Marquette University in May 2015. During my attendance there I majored in biological sciences and worked in both their macro and micro-biology labs, the latter of which I have a published paper for my work. While at Marquette I also tutored. I think it is extremely important for tutors to be able to help their students learn in what ever way best allows for them to understand the material. Most of my nursing career was spent at Children's Hospital in Wisconsin...I love kids and I'm passionate about helping children and families reach their highest potential. One position I held while working at Children's was as a school nurse at high-risk areas of Milwaukee, WI where I taught health and wellness classes to students, teachers and parents. I am an elementary education graduate from Marquette University. I have been an elementary teacher for nine years. Over those nine years, I have taught reading, math, science and social studies. I have also learned to adapt lessons for students that have learning disabilities or may learn in a less conventional manner. My greatest goal as a teacher and tutor, is to foster a love of learning within my students and empower them to seek out and demand a fulfilling and well rounded education for themselves. I have over 6 years of tutoring experience and focus on Introduction to Accounting, Budgeting, Financial Management, Investing, Certified Internal Auditor, and related subjects. I led accounting tutoring at my university for 2 years and now manage the internal audit process at a publicly traded US company.

I am a Gustavus graduate with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, favorite subjects include general chemistry and biology though I can also help with physics and algebra.

I love helping students learn. I grew up in Milwaukee and Wauwatosa. I went to Marquette University and received an Education degree to teach grades 1-9. I also took extra classes that specialized in Math. After graduating I taught at Mary Queen of Heaven in West Allis. I taught Middle school for 1 year and then 3rd grade for a year and a half before starting my family. I stayed home for 12 years, raising my 4 children until they all were in school. I went back to subbing last year in the Wauwatosa School District and LOVE working with a diverse group of children every day. I am very excited to work with students to help them be the best they can be. I know that not all children learn the way they are taught in school. I love the challenge of figuring out what will work with you or your child to achieve all that is possible. I believe ALL students can learn.

I went to Marquette University for undergraduate degree in Writing Intensive English. I love reading, and books are one of my favorite things in the world. I have taught in the past as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa teaching grades 5,6, and 7 English. I am perfectly happy to meet up, or we could tutor online. I love the world of STEM - from math, to physics, to chemistry. I guess that's why I became an engineer! I am hoping to help young minds feel inspired and empowered to contribute to the ever-changing field of STEM.I discovered tutoring a few years ago when I realized that the best way for me to master a subject was also by sharing my knowledge of the subject with others - so we could each succeed together. Mentoring is a big passion of mine so by tutoring young minds, it has allowed me to become a role model for some students as they navigate through their academic goals.I have have discovered ways to simplify complex subjects to others by improving note-taking skills, showing step-by-step work/examples, color-coding information, and making the topics within a subject more engaging. This has helped students make tutoring feel more fun rather than feel like a chore or "extra school."I have also managed to navigate a tutoring environment both in-person and virtual so I can easily adapt to current circumstances if needed.

As a retired attorney and published author who has taught both college and high school, I bring a broad range of knowledge and teaching experience to tutoring. I graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law school where I served as Managing editor of the Law Review. My Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree gave me an education in not just my major, History, but also in various other areas, including biological and social sciences, computer programming, and systems theory. I enjoy sharing this knowledge through teaching in a student-centered, collaborative, and focused exploration of a subject. I have experience tailoring the learning experience to individual student's needs and interests for full topic engagement. In short, I endeavor to make learning as interesting and fun as possible.

As a life-long learner, I continued my education earning a Bachelor's in English at Marquette University, a Master's in Special Education from National Louis University, and a Ph.D. In Educational Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. For over twenty years, I have taught students at all levels of our educational system. My expertise is helping students in grades K-3, students with special needs, and medical students. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, written expression, organization skills, executive functioning, and Study skills. I take a very individualized approach in my teaching. I evaluate each learner and determine where the difficulty lies. I am soft spoken and take the learner one successful step at a time often using more low tech approaches that totally immerse the student in learning. interactively.
