Hello. I have my bachelor's in communications from Indiana Wesleyan University and my master's in English. specializing in writing, rhetoric, and literacy from Arizona State University. I have been lucky enough to work with many students as an educator for the past 10 years. I received my Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology for Marian University in Indianapolis and my teaching certification from Indiana Wesleyan University. Since becoming a teacher, I have worked with students in many different settings from rural to urban in both private and public schools. My prior teaching experience has been diverse as I have been a general education teacher, Title I teacher, language arts teacher and special education teacher. In fact, I have had the opportunity to work with students in grades 1st-8th at some point during my career! While I tutor many subjects, I am most passionate about reading intervention and teaching the Orton-Gillingham method. In fact, I recently completed training necessary to qualify as a Dyslexia Specialist in Indiana. The most rewarding things about being a teacher is seeing my students have that "AHA!" moment and grow in confidence during our time together. My philosophy when working with students is that learning should be fun, meaningful and engaging and something that sparks their interest in becoming lifelong learners. In my free time, I enjoy reading (especially mysteries), watching movies, spending time with my family and friends and learning new things that will help me to grow both personally and professionally.

Hello! I am a certified math teacher for grades 5-12. This is my 27th year of teaching! I love to teach and help students get a better understanding of mathematics. I am a Fulbright Scholar with over 20 years of higher education experience. I have a two Bachelors, three Masters and a research doctorate. I come to Varsity Tutors after two years of tutoring experience at the Center for Student Success at my university and teaching an introductory economics course for a homeschool co-op. In a few months, I will be graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from Indiana Wesleyan University, and I intend to begin a Master's in Public Policy within a few years.
