Do you hate school? I know that feeling well! I used to feel that way until I went to college. Now, I am a teacher! After lots of frustration and great struggles, I realized that everyone can learn. With a positive growth mindset and the right support, all goals are achievable. I have taught and tutored students from kindergarten to college. I have been teaching English and English as a New Language at the middle school level for the last thirteen years. As a parent with two children currently in college, I know what it takes to get there and be successful. My favorite subjects to teach and tutor are reading and writing. I believe that good readers become good writers. Good readers and writers learn to think critically and become great communicators. All subjects are connected to reading and writing! In my spare time I am a huge music fan. My own children tell me that I am occasionally funny and sort of cool, but what do they know?

I enjoy playing guitar and attending as many concerts as possible. I love the outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping, and canoeing. As far as sports, hockey is number one in my book, and I am a skating enthusiast.
