I am an English teacher because I believe that there is intrinsic value in learning through literature, written word, and speech both as an individual, and as a whole. I have a special interest in British and American literature, as well as journalism. I am extremely interested in working in a school that focuses their instruction on differentiation and accommodations to diverse learning needs. I am eager to continue using my acquired skills and education. In addition, I bring passion, dedication, and determination, in my students and myself. My goal is to take my knowledge and impart it on the youth of Jefferson County. I am particularly interested in this position because I want to teach students how to find joy in learning through these mediums. A technology based, family and student oriented community is an ideal community. I thrive in a community and school that incorporate all of these. My teaching experience and college courses have enabled me to develop my skills in using many different types of media, most notably, technology, and I have thoroughly enjoyed putting those skills to good use during my time as a teacher thus far. I have gained deep interest and experience in the area of RTI, and look forward to displaying my knowledge of catering to students with specific learning needs. I believe that learning can be filled with enthusiasm, enjoyment, and passion for both the student and the teacher.
