My life revolves around excitement and a lack of complacency. I always want to be somewhere or do something that I have not yet achieved. I believe it is this drive that allows me to pursue my passions, both academically and socially, and to be successful in both. I find that my greatest happiness comes in the form of little victories such as a good grade on an exam, or making a friend laugh! Its because of this that I really slow down and try to appreciate every passing moment because I believe every moment has the potential to be life changing.

My name is Matthew and I graduated from Cornell Tech with a Master's of Engineering in Computer Science this past May. I was also on the pre-med track for a few years before I changed my goals. I tutor many STEM topics to a wide range of students. Studying and learning are challenging, but teaching is as well. Since they are in fact the same thing viewed from different angles, it is true that a good student is also a good teacher. I hope I can help you in this laborious process of education.

I am currently a student at Cornell University pursuing a degree in computer science. I was lucky enough to attend a highly ranked school district throughout elementary, middle, and high school. We had good teachers, a welcoming environment, and additional resources at our disposal. Unfortunately, many kids do not have this same experience. As a tutor I hope to share the knowledge I have gained from the resources I was so fortunate to have.

I am currently attending Seton Hall University, and I expect to have a B.S. in Mathematics and in Computer Science in 2018. Since September 2013, I have worked privately with students, mainly for Calculus, but later on German. Several students have come to me over the years for help, and I have provided them with the utmost quality possible. I focus mainly on understanding fundamentals and developing a fluency in mathematics, computer science, German, and Italian. In order to understand complex ideas, one must often break it down into simpler ideas. It is within these simpler ideas that a clear understanding must be made. Often times in the realm of problem solving, many solutions are possible. I encourage the employment of many different methods for one problem, because we all think differently. Additionally, I have many different certificates in many different subjects. My favorite subject that I received multiple certificates in is Linear Algebra. The most entertaining course for only one certificate was data analytics. I enjoy helping other students succeed because in part, it makes me succeed, not only as a tutor, but also as a human being. To add, I tutor German, Italian, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Computer Science and Calculus I. My favorite subject to tutor is Calculus, due to the fact that it has a fearsome reputation for students. Calculus, just like many other difficult problems, can be easily split into easier problems that are more manageable. Whenever I'm not working or studying, I enjoy going to the gym, learning new things, and doing martial arts. I have a certificate of completion of Phase A in Krav Maga.I find that Math is everywhere. Therefore, in order to understand our surroundings, it is imperative that we understand this field, regardless of how daunting it may seem. Thus, my teaching philosophy focuses on understanding fundamentals, rather than memorization. It is my objective that you understand the concepts more deeply, rather than repeating some meaningless formula back to me.

I enjoy solving problems that matter. I believe that the purpose of classes is to provide students with the skills to find and solve problems that matter to them. This is the lens that I teach through, since there's always an application for the skills that we're tasked with learning. By jumping right into problems that matter and learning as we go, students will master topics in both theoretical and applied contexts.On a more personal note, I'm a biomedical engineering student at Georgia Tech. I also study computer science with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and conduct research in an immunoengineering lab. In my free time, I enjoy ballroom dancing, origami, and playing soccer.

I am a prospective Computer Science major from Austin, Texas, currently in the summer before my senior year at the University of Houston. During my undergraduate career so far I have taken to tutoring as a way to give back to my school's community, and I've decided to expand my horizons and help more people by coming here. While I tutor a range of subjects, I am at my best tutoring Computer Science and Computer Programming, with Math and Science-based subjects not too far behind. I prefer to give my students the big picture concepts at play in whatever field I'm guiding them though, so that they can discover the solutions to their problems and be prepared to use the same concepts again in the future.

I am a sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a bachelor's in computer science. I have tutored high schoolers for two years, mainly focusing on all levels of math, from pre-algebra to calculus. I have also helped students with standardized test prep. Things that I enjoy doing in my free time are running, watching sports, and lifting.

In my experience, I've been able to help many struggling students prepare for their standardized tests and school exams by teaching them valuable study methods and breaking down the questions until they are able to grasp a deep understanding of the subject. My teaching interests are wide-ranging, including computer science, reading, writing, and math. I'm also a great test-taker, and have been helpful in the past to students in preparing for a panoply of tests, from high school level to higher ed.Having grown up having to mostly teach myself from textbooks rather than learning from teachers, as well as tutoring students who were dealing with ADHD and other learning disabilities, I had to work hard to develop learning and organizational strategies to keep myself on task. As a result, I'm extremely comfortable working with students with complex needs to find innovative learning tools for success. There's no right way to learn, and there are as many strategies as there are people in the world. In this way, I like to encourage students to use whatever methods grant them success.I love to read, play music (alto sax and piano), run, and dabble in electronic music production.
