I've worked in research, production, and sales in various industries which has given me numerous opportunities to apply my education in both math and science. My primary goal is to help my students improve their grades in math and science dramatically, and hope to motivate them by providing real world examples of how the material can be useful.

I am currently student teaching full time in a 1st grade classroom at a school. I spent time during the first half of the school year student teaching in a blended 5th and 6th grade classroom. I have worked in child care and education for the past 4 years. I have been an before and after school teacher, a summer camp counselor, a kindergarten program teacher, and an infant teacher at a preschool. I have experience working with children from birth to 8th grade. Because of my experience, I know how to differentiate instruction to accommodate many types of learners. My genuine love of children and learning makes me an ideal tutor. I am enthusiastic about starting my teaching career and I would love to spend the summer helping students and families meet their individual learning goals.

I am a current middle school science teacher. Helping others is something that I love to do and always found myself wanting to explain something to someone that I felt needed help.Prior to becoming a teacher, I was in healthcare administration. I found that as new employees joined my team, I was selected every time to train them. Each employee that I trained later moved on and got promoted.After several years in the field, I realized that the best part of my job was "teaching" others. I later left and became a teacher.I love what I do. In my opinion, it takes a special type of person to be able to teach. Teaching involves the ability to adapt, patience, fluency with words, and empathy. Without these skills, it is difficult to be able to tutor and/or teach others and help them reach a level of understanding.I love be able to watch students reach that "ah-HA" once they have reached clarification and understanding. I am a science teacher and informal educator, and I earned my Bachelor's in Geological Sciences at the University of Michigan in May 2014. As a senior in college, I considered graduate school in geology, but I was inspired to bring science into young peoples' lives and I instead completed a rigorous three-semester program in secondary science education. For this program, I worked as a teaching intern in three different secondary science classrooms, and I learned to use the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) tutoring method with small groups of students. In addition to working with middle and high school students, I regularly tutored fellow undergraduates in Geology, Astronomy, and Oceanography classes. I tutor a variety of subjects, including standardized test preparation. I am most passionate about earth science and astronomy, but I find all tutoring work exciting. It is a privilege to work with students and to promote their growth as learners.

I believe that music plays a strong role in the life of all people. Whether you decide to become a professional musician or someone who just enjoys music it can play such a monumental role in everyone's life. Music can connect people of different backgrounds, bring people together, serve as therapy for some, and even become a career for others. I believe in teaching people how to appreciate and understand music from all over the world.

I am an actuary and looking at helping people in my spare time! I have helped students get into the college of their dreams and make sure they are prepared for college learning!I love volleyball and finance.

I graduated from TCU with a BS in Psychology and a double major in Criminal Justice. I will attend law school next year to earn my JD and become a criminal prosecutor. I am passionate about social justice and I believe a great part of justice is education. Education is empowering and fulfilling and I am privileged enough to have experienced this. Now, I want to help others experience the life-changing power of education as well.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management from The State University of New York at Cobleskill. Cobleskill is in the upstate region among the Catskill Mountains and has outstanding wildlife and scenery.The courses I teach are Biostatistics, Plant Biology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, General Science, as well as test preparation and study skills. I strive in the Science department and I love teaching these subjects as much as I enjoy learning more skills. I started teaching when I volunteered at an Arboretum that was near my University. I became a member of their Education Committee and have taught outdoor environmental science classes both there and for an additional environmental school. I have also taught Hunter Education courses.Outside of teaching I am involved with Ducks Unlimited and other non-profit organizations. I enjoy practicing clay target shooting at ranges. I spend a great deal of time with my dogs. I love to cook and have large family meals, which makes Thanksgiving my favorite holiday! I have accomplished writing an article for Ducks Unlimited and it is published on their website. I feel accomplishments should be celebrated and I hope to bestow this upon my students.I have an approach to teaching that focuses on "HOW" I am able to present, encourage and get results for "WHAT" my students need. Having used tutoring during my education, I have learned multiple skills and I find what works for me and each individual student.I have access to numerous resources that I will use with my students so I can ensure all of the needs are being met.

I am an NYC-based tutor with many years of tutoring experience in and around the city. I've worked with students from many different backgrounds and ability levels. I believe strongly in the importance of giving a student the confidence to flourish academically.

I graduated from Cornell where I majored in Latin before beginning my pre-medical post-baccalaureate studies at Columbia. I greatly enjoy helping students of all ages to understand concepts, just as I have at Columbia where I would frequently guide my fellow peers through physics problems. I want to help students feel the "Ah ha!" moment of grasping a concept and breaking complex problems down to simple solutions. As a former swimmer and triathlete, I enjoy keeping physically fit. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar as well!
