I am currently a graduate student at Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester conducting research in Biophysical Chemistry. I recently graduated in June 2017 from the University of California - Irvine with two Bachelor degrees. One was in Biomedical Engineering and the other was in Materials Science and Engineering. With two engineering degrees, I feel comfortable working with students in all realms of Math and Science.I have experience in teaching students of all levels, in a variety of settings. Since my sophomore year of high school, I've worked as a Private Tutor. I have worked with students ranging from ages 10-16. I have private tutored students in Middle School Math and Science, AP English, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus.I am experienced in teaching a wide variety of subjects but, I love teaching Math classes the most. I love challenging the minds of my students and teaching them new ways to approach and solve problems. I believe that education is not about teaching students how to work through problems to do well on tests. It's about teaching them good study habits and helping them to develop a genuine love for learning.The point of education is to teach students how to become critical thinkers so that they may apply their knowledge to solve real world problems. Learning should be exciting for students; it shouldn't feel like a chore. This passion and enjoyment of learning should be applied to every aspect of life for my students.Outside of the time that I spend reading books, I enjoy spending time outdoors being active. I enjoy hiking, swimming, tennis, and running. I also have a deep interest in the arts. I love to sing, dance, and I look at the amazing photography of famous Photographers and of my good friends.

I am a software developer by profession. I received my bachelors and masters in Computer Science from University of Texas at Dallas. I strongly believe in giving back to the community and helping kids and young people to build and get clear ideas about their careers.I love and enjoy tutoring, especially math and computer science subjects.I have been a tutor and mentor for a lot of kids for about 4 years, and I feel proud when I see them achieve their goal.I strongly believe one should have a solid fundamentals of the basic stuff to be more sucessfull and to understand more complicated stuff, and hence i make sure the person who i am tutoring understands the basics and fundamental very clearly.I love to teach/tutor in a fun way to make sure the student remains interested in the subject.

During my stay in Illinois Tech I had experience as a Teaching Assistant (Java) for two years. Since graduation, I have worked as Software Engineer in various companies.I tutored a broad range of subjects during high school such as Math, Physics and Chemistry, I am most passionate about Math, Calculus, and Geometry. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Math and Physics, I try to explain difficult definitions and solutions in an understandable easy way. I don't generally give direct solution, rather motivate students by giving clues and make them find a way to get around the problem which help their confidence. In my free time, I enjoy watching & playing soccer and tennis.

I'm a total fan of Stanford's d.school, where the curriculum is all about the "design thinking" framework for creative problem solving pioneered by the international design firm IDEO. While typically used in startups to develop new innovations, I've found it extremely handy in tutoring. Every student is different and so are their difficulties, so a finite set of ways to present a concept or tackle a difficulty is potentially limiting. In my experience, it's much more effective to use an adaptive framework like design thinking to identify the root of students' issues and find/develop a solution that fits their needs.
