I am an avid cell molecular biologist, anatomist and neuroscientist with a passion for educating young minds to reach their fullest potential. I have more than a decade of experience in teaching and research at College/University level. Having lived and taught on 2 different continents has enabled me to become more attentive to student's needs and do my best to set them up for future success. My philosophy is that reading and teaching can stimulate the mind but thinking will plant and grow ideas. The approach I use is inspired from my own experiences in learning biological sciences where there seemed to be always an absurd amount of material to be read and understood. By centering on the core principles, I believe it significantly reduces the need to 'cram' concepts but to apply content that they have learnt. I am currently a fourth year medical student at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and graduated Suma Cum Laude from Yeshiva College with a BA in Biology and Music. As a Writing Center tutor, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students looking to improve their writing, and have also tutored Regents-level biology and chemistry. Most recently, I tutored for Kaplan, teaching an MCAT preparatory course and working one-on-one with students. When not studying, I like to ride my bike, train Taekwondo, play blues guitar (or bass, or piano, or saxophone, or drums), and read a good book.

I majored in neuroscience and chemistry and while I was in college I spent my time volunteering at local hospitals and researching novel neuroscience techniques. I will attend medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth Medical College this fall. Having taken all of the science classes since high school, I know how daunting and hard science material might seem but if taken at a very fundamental level, it is much more logical and simpler than how many high school teachers or college professors make it seem. Thats how I approach tutoring my clients. I try to use practical examples on how the science principles come into play in the real world.

I am very dedicated to helping students excel in school and in helping them develop study methods and styles that work best for them and that will serve them throughout school. I previously tutored with Boys Hope Girls Hope in Evanston, IL. I tutored middle and high school students in Spanish and English, and I was able to help them develop study strategies such as using flashcards or translating a sentence they had spoken aloud that day in their heads for extra language practice. I am very excited to be able to tutor again and to work with students. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a previously struggling student excel and to have helped them improve along the way.
