We began our work on graph geometry, going over the formulas for distance, slope, and finding perpendicular slopes. Once we got these formulas hashed out, everything went smoothly and all of the problems were relatively easy. She had her final in a few weeks, so we are preparing for that.

We reviewed the classroom worksheet and went over practice problems that I brought with me. I think next time, I will do a review of the topics we have covered so far because I think the student is getting comfortable with equations of motion problems.

Tutoring review by Heather in Half Moon Bay, CA
Working with the student today was a joy! She was friendly and eager to learn. We practiced basic converting (such as how many eggs are in 3 dozen), multiplication of single-digit numbers by double- or triple- digit numbers, and reviewing how to multiply fractions. We also reviewed the 9's times table, which led to me showing her the trick for multiplying 11 by any two-digit number, which she enjoyed. I left her with a quick 10-problem practice sheet that reviewed what we went over today. I look forward to working with her next week.

Tutoring review by Jeremiah in Half Moon Bay, CA
I assisted the student with the science homework. I checked over his work to make sure that he understood the concepts chapter that he was reading. In addition to this, I quizzed him on his vocabulary words. He also worked on some other homework independently, since he did not need my assistance for certain assignments. Overall, he did a great job today.
