I graduated from the University of Mississippi, where I received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6), while also receiving secondary education degrees (7-12) in English, history, and math. I later received my certification in SREB Math Ready as well. In 2021, I decided to go back to school, where I attended Delta State University. During my tenure, I received a master's degree in Education Administration and Supervision. I am currently getting ready to start my eleventh year as an educator in Northeast Mississippi. Over the last ten years, I have taught the following subjects: Foundations of Algebra, Algebra 1, 2, & 3, Geometry, College Algebra (facilitator), and Yearbook. I can tutor all elementary subjects from K-6 grades, along with math, English, and history for 7-12 grades. I'm most passionate about tutoring math. I believe that it is my job to reach and grow each and every student that I have the pleasure of educating. I take the role of mentor with great awe seeing the tremendous impact teachers have in the lives of students.I enjoy a relationship where I can know my students as I do my corporate clients and to some extent design a program around what their needs are in the short and long term. I want to create an environment where I can know if my students are having difficulty with a particular part of an assignment. My name is Sarah Peterson. I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2021 with a B.S in Chemistry with minors in Math and Society and Health. I graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a M.S in Biomedical Sciences in 2022. This August I just finished my B.S in Nursing at Goldfarb School of Nursing in St. Louis. I currently am located in Chicago. I have tutored other students throughout my educational career and always was leading study groups with my friends. I also participated in a year long volunteer program where I tutored a 5th grade student in all subjects to assist them with the transition to online learning during COVID. I work best with 1-on-1 or small groups (5 or less). Rather than teaching a specific subject, I excel in helping students fill in the gaps they do not know through questions, quizzes, homework, etc. I love working through problems (homework, in class work, textbook questions, etc.) with students as I think applied learning is the most effective use of time with tutoring.
