About Me

Hello Varsity Tutors students! My name is Darius Amos, but I go by DJ. I am a fourth-year medical student graduating this April with my doctoral degree, and I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mississippi. I genuinely enjoy teaching and mentoring and have spent a lot of time helping students understand challenging concepts by breaking them down step by step and adapting my approach to each student's learning style. My experience includes serving as an undergraduate biology mentor for biology majors, working as a biology lab teaching assistant, and tutoring during medical school in histology and musculoskeletal (MSK) courses. I'm patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students not just get the right answer, but truly understand the material.
