About Me

My name is Sarah Peterson. I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2021 with a B.S in Chemistry with minors in Math and Society and Health. I graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a M.S in Biomedical Sciences in 2022. This August I just finished my B.S in Nursing at Goldfarb School of Nursing in St. Louis. I currently am located in Chicago. I have tutored other students throughout my educational career and always was leading study groups with my friends. I also participated in a year long volunteer program where I tutored a 5th grade student in all subjects to assist them with the transition to online learning during COVID. I work best with 1-on-1 or small groups (5 or less). Rather than teaching a specific subject, I excel in helping students fill in the gaps they do not know through questions, quizzes, homework, etc. I love working through problems (homework, in class work, textbook questions, etc.) with students as I think applied learning is the most effective use of time with tutoring. My strengths are science and math. However, since it has been a bit since I have taken some of these classes, I ask for a little heads up on what the subject matter is so I can review it before the session. I am very flexible with timing of tutoring sessions and I would consider communication and time management strengths of mine.
