I am a sociolinguist of French who is finishing up his PhD at the University of Georgia. I have taught linguistics and three levels of French at the college level as well as tutored English writing at two community colleges. My goal is to learn how you learn and make difficult concept more accessible to you. I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. I also have a M.Ed from the University of Georgia in Educational Administration and Policy. I grew up in Indiana, and moved to Georgia about six years ago. I enjoy running, playing guitar, and watching sports. I have taught fifth and sixth grades, and have helped tutor students from third to fifth grade. I enjoy working with students, and differentiating instruction to meet their specific interests and educational needs. I look forward to getting to meet new students, and help them have a successful educational journey.

I received my Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from N.E.D University, Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Cincinnati, and a Doctorate in Technology from the University of Georgia. I am a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Georgia. I have 30+ years of teaching experience and my students have praised me for providing them with training in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I have worked for 14 years during the summers at different national laboratories in Digital System Design, Software Engineering and Instrumentation. I take my responsibilities seriously by working hard with the students to maintain an environment that will contribute to their excellence in learning.

I have a passion for helping students succeed in life. This passion led to me volunteering my time as a tutor during my undergraduate studies. I helped local high school students prepare for the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) by providing them with study methods and offering assistance in math, science, and language arts. My students had a 100% pass rate for the GHSGT and were able to graduate from high school. I also helped students prepare for the ACT and SAT.My assistance is not limited to upper level students. I participated in a program called project FOCUS (Fostering Our Children's Understanding in Science); through this program I taught students in grades K-5 science. I developed lesson plans and projects that helped the students gain interest in science, as well as learn and understand science. I have also tutored students in math, reading, and language arts.When tutoring students, my goal is to understand the level the students are currently at, and how best to help them advance to higher levels. My lesson plans usually consist of worksheets and projects that focus on the area that is challenging for the students. I also sometimes allow the students to work independently in order to gauge their progress. I feel that this method provides confidence in their ability to complete the assignment.I will be as flexible as possible. As an undergraduate I was a teacher's assistant, then spent a year between college and law school teaching English at a high school in France. I graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program with dual degrees in History and and Economics, and a Minor in Classical Culture. I then attended Emory University School of Law where I graduated with honors.I spent almost four years at an Am Law 100 firm practicing general commercial litigation. I recently moved over to the City Solicitor's Office, Civil Right's Division to get some trial experience. I scored in the 92nd percentile on the LSAT and believe my test prep skills and practical experience would make me an excellent tutor for anyone looking for help with the LSAT and/or law school classes!Apart from being a lawyer, I love running, tennis, painting, IPAs/red wines, and have even dabbled in improv comedy (though I make no representations that you will actually find me funny).

I am a recent graduate from the University in Georgia, where I double majored in English and Linguistics. Until recently, I tutored in-person at a local high school, where I discovered an excitement for working with students one-on-one. I always knew I was interested in education: after all, both my parents are teachers. However, before tutoring for myself I didn't realize how much I enjoyed and cared about helping students reach their fullest potential. As an English major, I enjoy tutoring in literature most of all. I remember hearing friends and classmates talk about how much they disliked their required readings or their English classes, and I want to be able to help you regain some excitement for reading. Hello my name is Sydney and I am currently a Senior at the University of Georgia, Go Dawgs!!! Throughout my time as a student, I have experienced just how frustrating learning can sometimes be when you are pushing yourself to understand material that is just not clicking. I would love it if some of the knowledge I have acquired can help another student to lessen that frustration. I am very comfortable teaching algebra 1 and 2 as well as Anatomy and Physiology and Biology. I am most comfortable tutoring in language based subjects such as English, Composition, and Reading. I have tutored in various capacities since high school, mainly in the sciences but also in writing and math. I like to tutor because it is a very fulfilling task and I truly enjoy helping others learn. Knowledge and education are very valuable tools in life so I see tutoring as a gratifying duty of mine to help others learn material with which they are having difficulty. I graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2011 (B.S. Chemistry) and I have aspirations of becoming a dentist. Since graduating, I have worked full-time on weekdays with an oral surgeon for dental experience and plan on starting dental school next year.

I have a thing - just ask my wife and kids - for studying history, old literature, and dead languages. My annual budget with Amazon in these topics far exceeds our clothing budget. This obsession with study started in college. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in English Literature and Philosophy and then went on to the University of Georgia to complete a master's degree in Classical Languages. I also recently finished up a second master's degree from the University of North Carolina, where I focused my studies on second language acquisition and Renaissance literature. I have written my own book-length studies on Cicero's philosophical writings and Sir Thomas More's Utopia. The only thing that is more intellectually rewarding than studying the subjects with which I am obsessed, is sharing them with others. That's an overly elaborate way of suggesting that I love teaching. I have always seized opportunities to teach from the time I was an undergraduate tutor in the Writing Center. My first true teaching position came when I was a graduate student at the University of Georgia: there I tutored and taught philosophy, writing, Latin, and ancient Greek. I then taught Latin in high school for several years before joining the Army. After I completed my term of service, I taught writing and English literature at a local community college. Last year, I even took on the task of homeschooling my eighth-grade son. I teach a number of different subjects in the humanities, but I am most passionate about teaching Latin, ancient Greek, and biblical Hebrew. I also love teaching English Literature. My teaching experience and devotion to the subjects I teach directly benefits my students. I have dealt with hundreds of different students and as many different pedagogical difficulties, especially in Latin and ancient Greek, and so am generally capable of helping the student where she or he most needs it. The time I have spent with my subjects, moreover, means that I am able to make difficult ideas and tasks more comprehensible.

I am very interested in environmental science and ecology. I want to share this passion with other students that are interested in these fields and others. I enjoy helping others learn to love learning! I graduated with a BA degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Hendrix College and I am currently obtaining a PhD in Entomology from UGA. I enjoy asking questions when tutoring and finding the right resources to help different students understand any given subject.

I grew up in Decatur, Georgia attending some of the best Atlanta public schools. After graduating from the University of Georgia's business school, I worked in benefits consulting for the first three years after college. Through a volunteer organization called Junior Achievement, I had the opportunity to teach personal finance classes in Atlanta public high schools, and in the classroom I found my true calling. While I enjoyed my experience in Corporate America, my passion is teaching mathematics and economics to our youth and helping them find their own paths and passions. I will graduate this May with my Master of Arts in Teaching degree. In my free time, you can find me cooking, running, traveling, and reading.
