Studied Physics at San Diego State University as my undergraduate degree. Went on to get a Masters in Physics from University of Hawaii. Throughout my studies I tutored, taught labs, and taught problem solving sessions. In addition I worked as a substitute teacher during a break between undergrad and grad school. My experience with teaching ran the gamut of student types and situations and I enjoyed the challenge of adapting to the learning needs of each different case. Outside of school I have engaged in a variety of hobbies and skill building. My current hobby of choice is painting. The process of learning engages me and experiencing many things has created new opportunities to connect with and understand others. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo, studying Materials and Nanosciences. For the past three years, I have been a figure skating coach, working with students as young as three all the way up to adults. Teaching is something I really enjoy because I know how much of a difference a good teacher can make. Watching my students grow in confidence and skills is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I especially love tutoring physics and chemistry, since I enjoy helping people see how these subjects explain the world around us. I've always been curious about how the world works, which led me to explore everything from physics and calculus to machine learning and space research. I'm especially interested in how AI can solve real problems in spacelike predicting satellite orbits or understanding Earth's upper atmosphere. Outside of the classroom, I've tutored students from grades 6 to 12 in math and physics. I love breaking down tricky concepts and helping students find that "aha" moment. My favorite subject to tutor is Algebra 2it's where math starts getting deeper and connects to the real world, especially physics and engineering. I believe the best way to learn is through practice, so I focus on guiding students through practice problems to build their confidence and deepen their understanding.
