I'm New York City born and raised. I graduated from the University of Chicago last year with a degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. I am developing my own teaching methods to evolve traditional East Asian and French language acquisition, and to do this I need even more experience. My course of study has been directed at learning as much as I can about the culture, economy, and history of East Asia, China and Japan in particular. I view myself as someone who is entrepreneurial, collegial, individually motivated to produce high quality work, as well as foster a love of the subject which I teach. I am compassionate and enjoy working with both children and adults. I believe I have something to learn from everyone I meet.

I am a third year electrical engineering student at Princeton University, with a focus in applied physics, and minors in German studies and history. I want to tutor because I am always excited about learning new things, and I want to share this with students of all ages. I find that this way, a student can do difficult work, excel, and feel both accomplished and happy. I have a broad range of specialties, from physics, to programming in Java and C, to German, to test prep and college applications help. I also love workshopping all kinds of writing, whether personal or academic. Some of my qualifications include physics research at a Max Planck Institute and acceptances to Harvard and UC Berkeley. I have experience teaching environmental science to children at a botanical garden and volunteering as a reading tutor for elementary schoolers behind grade level.

I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania studying Economics and German. After graduating this coming May, I will be working in the consulting industry. Along with Economics and German, I have a strong background in a math, several AP subjects, and ACT test prep. I look forward to working with you!

They have experience as an Adjunct Instructor of Spanish at George Mason University, and an adjunct instructor of French at the University of Pittsburgh. They are currently getting their PhD in French. They have also been trained as a writing tutor in English, French and Spanish. Elsie grew up in France, and continued to learn languages in immersion programs, study abroad semesters, and fascinating courses through graduate school. They have worked with multilingual students in elementary schools, immersion academies, tutoring programs, and in university courses. They also speak German, a little bit of Italian, and has an ever-growing "languages to learn" list.

I believe that the best in people is brought about only when an opportunity for learning opens new doors, inspires new adventures and let's in new possibilities. Without these new vistas can never be reached, doors will remain closed and people will shun new possibilities. Therefore, in striving to be the best you can be, you can open yourself up to the possibility of who you will be. Belief in oneself inspires the passion to consider the self as a means of your own transformation. Therefore, when striving to follow my passion for mathematics, the arts or the sciences, I use a multifaceted approach to learning. I have instructed in assorted fields, from English to religion and theology, and in many different places, from Hong Kong to Toronto. Language learning and teaching has always been a great passion for me. I speak 7 languages, and I have been teaching languages for many years. I began teaching Italian in 2010 and German in 2016. It's hard to tell which language I enjoy teaching more, as these are my two favourite languages, and I am equally happy when I can help other people to become proficient in either of them. Besides my degrees and certificates in German and Italian, I also have a PhD in Applied Linguistics. My past education and ongoing research help me to better understand learners' needs and to use the most appropriate teaching methods based on each learner, considering their learning styles, age, personal strengths and difficulties, as well as their linguistic background. Having knowledge of several languages usually allows me to draw parallels between the target language and students' native language(s), which has beneficial effects on learners' metalinguistic awareness, especially when it comes to adult learners.
