Certified Tutor

I am a graduate student currently pursuing my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Women's University. I hold a Bachelor's of Arts degree from studying Sociology and Criminology at Texas Tech University. My academic journey has shaped my passion for helping students grow and succeed. Throughout my studies, I have always been drawn to the intersection of mental health and education. I have seen first-hand how learning environments can significantly impact a student's well-being, which is why I am dedicated to helping students succeed without the stress and anxiety that traditional learning, such as test taking, often brings. I believe in moving beyond just memorization and focusing on truly understanding the material in a way that is engaging and meaningful. My approach to tutoring is centered on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and developing a love for learning. I often incorporate fun activities and even music into my lessons to make the material come alive. I firmly believe that when learning is enjoyable and relevant, it leads to greater retention and confidence. I am also a big advocate for building student's self-esteem and resilience. The pressures of traditional education can sometimes be overwhelming, but I am committed to helping students not only grasp the content, but also develop the mental skills they need to thrive. I aim to make learning a positive experience that sparks curiosity and personal growth. I look forward to the opportunity to work with students!
